nach der letzten sendung habe ich hier versucht zu erklären, weshalb top gear viel von der einstigen grossartigkeit verloren hat. es wird immer klarer, dass ich damit bei weitem nicht alleine bin. tatsächlich gibt es leute, die ihren unmut so laut kundtun, dass sich jetzt der produzent von top gear zu den problemen geäussert hat.

yep, das sehe ich auch etwa so. ausserdem hat es entschieden zu wenig autos in den neueren sendungen. der schwerpunkt liegt auf irgendwelchen kruden pseudolustigen challenges, was das ganze zu einer art comedysendung werden lässt. wohlgemerkt: eher zu einer deutschen (nicht lustig), denn zu einer englischen (meistens lustig). gut, der produzent andy wilman hat das problem erkannt und kann jetzt etwas ändern. oder?
However, although we understand the complaints, it doesn’t necessarily mean we’re going to do anything about them. Believe me that’s not arrogance on our part, but the fact is we’re not wedding DJs taking requests, and for good reason, because no good telly in the history of man was ever created that way. You have to make the programme you want to make, and people then vote with the on or off button.
ok… ist das jetzt eine aufforderung, einfach nicht mehr zu schauen? auch wenn er am anfang des abschnitts sagt, das sei keine arroganz, klingt es doch sehr danach. auf der fansite final gear gibt es hunderte von posts im forum, die sich mit der aktuellen staffel von top gear befassen. es sind offensichtlich nicht irgendwelche durchzapper, die sich über top gear aufregen, sondern treue fans. vielleicht sollte man bei der bbc diese stimmen etwas ernster nehmen.
